I learned animation at university, and as a kid who was super into art, it just made sense to become an animator—only to realize that there is no sustainable animation career in India. This left me confused and open to exploring different fields of design and animation.

At university, they taught me a range of disciplines, from UX design to filmmaking and even game development, where I created an awesome little game that’s still live on the Play Store. I was really into these fields, which made me quite good at all of them, and that made it even more difficult to choose just one.

I eventually landed my first job as an illustrator (which wasn’t even on the list). But I ended up as part of the product design team, maybe by coincidence.

As time went on, I switched because I didn’t want to be limited to being just an illustrator, and there was more to learn in product design. So, I started building small portions of the products my company offered.

Over the years, I kept getting better at it. This leaves me now as a designer who can do it all but chooses to specialize in product design.
